Cohasset Sailing Club

We were founded in 1960 with the mission to introduce, teach and instill an ongoing love of sailing, particularly among youth.

Over the years, Cohasset residents of all ages have learned how to sail, become more comfortable and confident on the water and enjoyed all of the recreational benefits of our special harbor and coastline.

Today, the CSC plays an instrumental role in connecting our community to the water. Our docks provide convenient and safe access for dinghies and whalers to patrol the local waters, our club house is a special location for members and event guests to take in the beauty of our harbor, and our programming for sailers of all ages brings families together to enjoy the wind and the sea.

Committed to Our Community for 65+ Years

  • Every summer we have a staff of 15-20 employees running classes and helping our community get out on the water. They include local residents who are in high school or recently graduated. They are the magic behind the scenes.

  • Last year, more than 180 sailers enrolled in our junior sailing program. This ranges from rising 5th graders all the way up to the high school race team.

  • CSC is made possible by the hard work and commitment of more than 25 volunteers who collectively dedicate hundreds of hours each year to serving on the board of trustees or helping make the facilities and boats a precious community resource.

  • Last summer, we had nearly 20 adult sailers take beginner or refresher sailing lessons and plan to grow this even more by adding a Sandpiper to the fleet.

  • We provide access to the harbor and ocean to more than 180 motor and paddle craft each season. This includes whalers and dinghies on the club docks and paddle boards and kayaks in the club racks, a unique public resource on the South Shore.

  • The CSC is home to one of the most scenic venues for events and celebrations on the South Shore - The Founder’s Hall (club house). The venue is staffed by volunteers with special pricing for town residents. Proceeds from the rentals support our junior sailing program and building maitenance.
