420 Race Team

The CSC offers a summer race team for juniors to learn how to compete. The team sails 420s, which are two person, high-performance dinghies that have a long history of International competition (think of them as the junior sibling to the Olympic Class 470s).

Participants are eligible beginning the summer before 9th grade. The program builds on foundational sailing skills learned in the junior program and teaches more advanced small-boat racing and teamwork.

The race team gives interested sailors the change to get out on the water five afternoons a week, whether it’s practice or participating in one of the the local regattas in nearby towns.

Race team is such a fun experience! It’s cool to learn something that most people don’t know how to do.”
